Credit card in hand, walk to our favorite store, select the size and take the TV home. We already have our ideal Smart TV ready to enjoy it or not. And buying a TV is not an easy task. Different brands, models, technologies, options, etc. are so many data.
Technology LCD, LED or Plasma?
When we decided to buy a new TV family, friends, co-workers and of course the seller advise us. Sometimes with good intentions and knowledge of cause and in others only for their personal experience. It is best to listen but above all to know what they are talking about.
The current televisions can use three types of technologies for the manufacture of their panels: Plasma, small gas cylinders that change color according to the intensity of the current; and then LCD and LED, they are the most fashionable, but they are not always the best option.
Plasma offers better color and contrast ratio than LCD or LED. Also, its price is usually lower by having a lower manufacturing cost. All this without forgetting that they tend to disguise better the defects of the image. Therefore, despite personal tastes, we like to recommend the plasma because they will obtain a viewing quality closer to the old CRT but with the current resolutions of high definition.
The LCD and ultra-high definition LED TV give us a feeling of brightness and greater luminosity. In addition to the low weight it offers varied sizes, from small to large inches, something that plasma does not allow being used for screens of 40 “and up.
The definition of Smart TV is broad and that a TV with the Smart label does not mean that it can do the same as another with the same last name. Therefore, when we buy a television, we must ask what it can or cannot do.
The main function of a LED TV android is to provide additional content to the device, beyond what the television channels offer via DTT. That is why if we want to connect to services like YouTube, we have to make sure we can do it. Also make use of the Internet openly since some TVs include a browser but only for the websites that the manufacturer authorizes.
The latter is changing, and offer browsers with which to access any website. Of course, we cannot see Flash content in the vast majority of devices. Then there is the possibility of installing applications.
Another aspect to take into account is the ability to play content via USB, the different formats accepted as well as whether we can connect a hard disk and the maximum capacity or just a Flash memory. There are also models that allow us to record what we see in that memory so we could eliminate the need for an additional recorder.
Conclusions
When you go to buy your new Smart TV, you can make a list with which to check what it offers or not and so be closer to your ideal TV.
