How To Check The TV When Buying: Expert Advice?

It is difficult to imagine a family that does not have a TV in their home. This is almost a stylized “home,” which in the evenings brings the whole family for pleasant family leisure, such as watching a good movie or gambling on game consoles.

Televisions, as well as any equipment that is purchased not for one year, needs careful selection and verification of work. What should be foreseen before choosing a new TV model? How can we test the quality of the matrix?

To make a choice more obvious, today we will reveal the secrets of accurate testing of TVs and best LED TV brand in India.

Step 1. Checking packaging and picking

First of all, you should look at the box with the new TV. Ideally, it should not be mechanical damage, tears or dents. If they still have a place to be, this indicates that the TV was not delivered most accurately, and the inspection of the TV itself should be carried out very carefully.

Having opened a treasure box, we check all a complete set (the list of a full game, should be specified in the instruction) and we examine the TV itself. Are there any scratches, cracks or chips on the case? Are all protective films in place?

Then we check the correctness of filling in the documentation and warranty card. The latter should have the actual date of purchase, the warranty period (usually in months) and the seal. Few buyers pay due attention to the correct filling of the warranty certificate, errors in which can in rare cases lead to a denial of warranty service so that excessive vigilance does not hurt.

Step 2. Check for broken pixels

So, the TV is connected and fully ready for testing. But if the purchase of the TV occurs in the cold season, it is better to withstand it for a couple of hours at room temperature and only then turn it on and perform tests. Now we connect the flash drive (or another external drive), turn on the prepared images and carefully study the screen itself.

Step 3. Evaluating the uniformity of the backlight

When applying a uniform color image to the screen, ideally, the color should be uniform over the entire area, without pronounced gradients of third-party colors. But due to the peculiarities of the backlighting of the absolute “smoothness” of a single-color image, it is difficult to achieve. Such a defect is usually called tint, and you can reveal it, “filling” the screen with a white or gray uniform image.

Step 4. Check for grayscale

Perhaps this is a mandatory test for all types of TVs. The more shades of gray the matrix can display, the smoother the transitions will be in the image, without sharp lines.

For this check, you need to turn on the dynamic mode and open the gradient image. Paying attention to the transition of shades is essential. It should not be too sharp, nor should it be blurry – the colors should differ separately, but not too much contrast with each other.

Results

It is worth noting that not all tests can be performed directly in the store. It is best to test at home and in the place where the device will be located. In the store, bright artificial lighting can give more errors than in “real” conditions.

When buying a TV, it is important to choose reliable stores in which it is possible to make an exchange and buy LED TV at lowest price, if the result obtained does not satisfy your needs.
