Every year the arrival of summer implies days of high heat and heat and pushes many to purchase or turn on the lowest power consumption air conditioner in India, now available on the market at reasonably affordable prices and present in all shops, in the workplace and very many houses. If air conditioning can be useful to cope with high temperatures, it must be remembered that this is a very unsustainable solution from both an energy and environmental pollution point of view.
However, if you really cannot do without it, here are seven mistakes to avoid, to use it as wisely as possible, trying to save on consumption (for what is possible) and avoiding harmful waste both for the world around you that for your wallet:
- Buy an oversized conditioner
Many people tend to think that a more massive air conditioner cools homes more quickly and is even more efficient. In fact, the size of the air conditioner should always be proportionate to the environment in which it is placed. An appliance oversized concerning the room to be cooled cannot determine a uniform temperature or reduce the humidity of the air: on the contrary, it works inefficiently, alternating the switch-on and switch-off phases too quickly. Likewise, even an undersized conditioner has a poor performance. The advice, therefore, is to always buy appliances in line with their actual needs, without being approximate and without wanting to overdo it.
- Place the air conditioner in a warm area of the house
Contrary to what can be imagined, it is not convenient to place the air conditioner in the hottest area of the house or at a point exposed to direct light. This location determines an excessive consumption of energy, much higher than necessary: it is, therefore, wiser to install the air conditioner in a shaded area, possibly oriented to the north or north-east.
- Place the thermostat near heat sources
In order not to waste energy, make sure that the air conditioner of your air conditioner is far from causes of heat such as lamps and appliances, which could distort the measurement of the room temperature, making the appliance work unnecessarily.
- “Hiding” the conditioner
The Intec air conditioner is not a complement of elegant furniture or particular aesthetic value, we agree. This does not indicate that you have to hide it behind plants or tents: in this way, in fact, the appearances are favored, but you end up hindering the ventilation and clogging the drain, resulting in an inefficient and expensive operation of the appliance. Are you sure it’s worth it?
- Do not do maintenance
Many think that once purchased, the air conditioner is “forever,” ignoring that it must continuously be subject to cleaning and maintenance: a little ‘attention, in fact, not only improves the performance of the product but extends its life.
- Leave the air conditioner on all day
Rather than keeping the air conditioner running all day, even when you’re away, learn how to switch the appliance on and off so that the machine leaves just before you return home and switches off shortly after you leave or that you went to sleep. Programming is the smartest choice for good use of the air conditioner.
